For nearly two decades, Dance-N-Groove has been more than just a place to learn pliés and pirouettes. It's a second home for young dancers in Hutto, a studio where life skills are taught in rhythm, and confidence grows with every eight-count.

More Than Dance, It’s a Mission
Dance-N-Groove offers classes for ages 1 to 18, including Parent & Me, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary. But what truly sets this studio apart isn’t just the lineup of styles, it’s the heart behind the movement.
“At Dance-N-Groove, we teach more than dance,” the owner, Ms. Kirstin, says. “We teach life skills, instill confidence, and pour into our students’ lives, helping them grow both as dancers and as individuals.”
From Teaching Dreams to Dance Floors
The journey to launching Dance-N-Groove didn’t start with a dance degree or a business plan, it started with a passion for teaching.
“I was on my way to earning my teaching degree when the opportunity to open Dance-N-Groove came along,” the founder shares. “I’ve always loved helping others grow, and this gave me the perfect avenue to combine my love of education and the arts.”
And Hutto? That was a no-brainer.
Hometown Hippo Pride
Dance-N-Groove held its very first class on February 1, 2005. For the founder, Hutto isn’t just where the business is, it’s home.
“I’ve lived here since 1994 and graduated from Hutto High School. When we opened, the city was just starting to grow. And it hasn’t stopped since.”
One of the most special parts of running a business in Hutto? The hippos. No, really.
“Hutto’s mascot, the Hippo, isn’t just for the schools. It represents the whole town. That sense of community and pride is something truly unique.”
A Legacy of Confidence and Growth
Over the past 20+ years, Dance-N-Groove has seen thousands of dancers pass through its doors. The most memorable moments?
“Watching a shy, unsure student transform into a confident, empowered dancer never gets old. That kind of growth is what keeps me going.”
The studio has become a cherished part of many families’ lives, and often, those relationships continue well beyond the dance floor.
“I still run into former students and families all over town. Getting to stay connected and watch them grow up is a gift.”
Advice for New Hutto Entrepreneurs
For anyone looking to launch a business in Hutto, the founder offers some wise words: “Understand that Hutto is growing, fast. There’s a lot of diversity and new energy moving in. Embrace the change, connect with people, and offer something that brings real value to the community. Relationships matter here.”

Life Outside the Studio
When this business owner isn’t leading the next generation of dancers, you’ll likely find her on mom duty, volunteering at her daughters’ schools, attending events, or popping into the Hutto Public Library for a fresh stack of books.
